The creation of the "porte de la République", the opening of the historical center by the "cours Jean Jaurès" and the "rue de la Répubique" was carried out in order to air the city and to allow a direct access by a large street to the "place de l'Horloge" and the "Palais des Papes".
The construction of the REGINA HOTEL was completed in 1913. It was built following the creation of the "rue de la République" and the "cours Jean Jaurès". This is why the hotel benefits from this single site to the angle of two large streets.
The famous "Pont d'Avignon" (pont saint Benezet), was built at the 13th century. It had originaly 24 arches. It connected Avignon to the "Tour Philippe le Bel" in Villeneuve les Avignon.
